About Cinzia Monari

The project  "VISSI D'ARTE, VISSI D'AMORE" stems from a syntonic encounter around the idea that "Music provides Love with the wing to fly towards infinity", to sing love in its various manifestations: from Cherubino's tremendous love trouble in the Marriage of Figaro to the overwhelming passion of Traviata, to the sacred love of Mary in Bach-Gounod's immortal aria, passing through popular pages of the Opera, Neapolitan songs and great movie themes, in a rare voice-guitar version in a 19th century grand salon style, both intimate and resonant, thanks to the original arrangements by guitarist Paolo Mari for the eclectic vocality of Cinzia Monari.

Cinzia Monari is an Italian soprano.

Graduated in operatic singing at the R. Franci Conservatory of Siena, she specialized in lieder repertoire at the International Chamber Vocal Music Seminars organized by the L. Cherubini Conservatory of Florence with teacher Liliana Poli.

She has studied dance, theater and body mime, participating as an actress, singer and dancer in various musicals and comedies.

From 2005 to 2007 she sang as lead soprano in the Johannesburg Symphony Choir directed by Richard Cock and in the prestigious Wits University Choir.

In 2009 she further improved her skills at the “Accademia di Alto Perfezionamento per Voci Pucciniane” studying with the masters Lucetta Bizzi, Luigi Roni and Vivien Hewitt in Torre del Lago, where she sang in the choir of the Puccini Festival in the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

She perfected her vocal technique and operatic repertoire with teacher Gabriella Ravazzi, with whom she collaborated in the staging of various operas at the Spazio Musica Association in Genoa.

She made her debut in the roles of Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Musetta in Puccini's Boheme, Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto, Serpina in Pergolesi's Serva Padrona.

She has also performed as soprano soloist in Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Petite Messe Solemnelle by Rossini, Mass in C minor K 427 by Mozart and Carmina Burana by Orff.

In 2010 she was invited as a soloist by the “D. Carpitella” choir, La Sapienza University of Rome, to record the CD Roma Sacra XIX, produced by Francesco de Melis.

Since 2016 she has been collaborating as a chorister in the Intermezzo choir of Barcelona with which she has performed both symphonic and operatic repertoire at the Liceu Theater in Barcelona and at the Peralada Festival.

She currently lives in Barcelona and performs concert activity in Italy and abroad, with both sacred and operatic repertoire, and collaborates with Reial Circle Artistic, Italian Cultural Institute of Barcelona, and Jesus Maria College, for the dissemination and rooting of operatic culture in the new generations.
